Folks,

Not sure if this is an old-wives tale. But I remember reading on some vehicles, don't turn on the A/C while cruising at high speed -- it generates extra belt ware as the compressor grabs hold? Also, extra wear if you keep cycling the A/C on/off just to get better mileage.... Is that true in the Cruz? I've got a 2013 eco, MT, and just want to keep it happy!

This isn't true.

The car (as all modern cars do) cycles the A/C on and off automatically when you floor it. If anything, this would add slight wear to the A/C clutch, not the belt...but again, it's completely insignificant.
