Unless he able to never let off the throttle while under boost (which is practically impossible), then he was causing unnecessary wear on the turbo's bearings. Not to mention the poor MAP/MAF trying to adjust to the massive fluttering of pressure and air flow.Unless it's a s13 drift car!!! Had a buddy that ran no bov on his but it was set for straight up track. Hydro ebrake and all good times

In short, that pressurized air has to go somewhere when the throttle closes. Either the atmosphere (BOV), back into the charge pipe (BPV), or back out the turbo's compression wheel!
