BNR went to the track today to test some prototype parts on the 3200LB Sonic (Yes you read that right, it weighs as much as a Cruze). Just broke the 1.4T 1/4 mile world record for both ET and MPH. #BNRMAFIA#BNRSKUNKWORKS

At least give us a hint or run down. Even if we can’t have it, yet.

And, you forgot about that secret squirrel hood scoop. That probably weighs 10 pounds. Ram Air, baby! Did it break the record towing the trailer? Because that would be a feat!

Is it an Auto!?

That's got to be, what, like 325hp to run a 13.4? A 350HP C5 vette weighs around the same, and ran mid 13's, right? Minus some for the lack of drivetrain loss from a R&P...

What's done to this one?

Mike

For the weight, to go a 13.4 it would take 257WHP, which is about where this car should be based on the airflow at the MAF.

I guess I was thinking a stock C5 ran like 13.5, but looks like they run like 13-flat, with 345hp crank / 300ish WHP, and 3200lbs curb weight.

The 3200lbs, is that going down the strip, like with you in it? Or that's curb weight? i.e. A 3200lbs curb weight corvette is really 3400lbs with a driver in it, etc.

So at 257whp, with a ~12% adder, you're at around 290-ish bhp out of a 140hp 1/4L.

My question is, what's done to it? Bigger turbo? how many PSI? I'd assume your LS coils? E85? FMIC? Stock bottom end? Cams? Port work?

Thanks,
Mike

Confused on the curb weight, but that doesn't reduce from how impressive that is on a 1.4T.

Sonic LTZ curb weight is 2900 pounds. I'm guessing driver and full tank are what make up the rest. So, still a lot lighter than a Cruze. A Cruze Gen1 starts at 3000 pounds for the Eco, which has a ton of weight shaving measures, and the other trims will clear 3200 pounds loaded.
