Boost gauge noise

I am trying to figure out my boost noise. When under a vacuum there is a slight hissing noise. Like I have a leak. Well, I thought it was the hose so I replaced it with vacuum tubing. Nothing. Thought maybe it was the gauge so I took the hose off and plugged it with my finger. No change. I checked the throttle body spacer and there seems to be no leaks there either. I even but a clamp on the hose to be sure. I was reading on other car forums that I should add a restrictor. I was reading that you can use a small fuel filter and it will work the same. Before I go but this stuff, any suggestions?

You said you took the hose off the back of the gauge and plugged it? That would rule out the gauge all together.

Have you always had the noise, or only just now?

I took the hose off the back of the gauge and plugged it with my finger and could still hear it. It seems like its the hose itself making the noise like a vibrating. I broke an end off the original line so I decided to use some bigger/better vacuum line. That's when it started. (I also installed a DDM Throttle body spacer and run it off that now) I can't find any leaks by the spacer or between that and the gauge. From what I was reading the bigger hose can cause the noise and that's why people recommend the restrictor or fuel filter trick.
If you disconnect and plug the feed coming from the spacer, it goes away, correct?

I will have to have somebody help me do that because I don't have another plug to plug it and it only does it under low acceleration. If I put my hand on the tube I can feel the noise.

Just use electrical tape. It should hold for the short time you'll need to test it.
The sound went away when I plugged the hold on the throttle body. There does not seem to be any boost leaks either so I believe it was just hose noise due to a bigger hose. I went ahead and put a universal hose attachment about a foot from the TB. It got rid of most of the noise but I think a air restrictor or filter would work better so I'll order one and try the air restrictor next.
