Was the spark plug on that cylinder fully torqued down? - my initial guess is that it wasn't fully seated and you got some exhaust blowing out through the gap - the soot is visible in the socket as well as on the boot.

If it wasn't fully torqued then you would of had misfires coming from that cylinder and you can generally hear it as the noise is quite loud. I wouldn't worry about it unless you having a actual problem with misfires. I have seen this on tons of cars and they still work correctly with no problems.

Appears to be blow by at the spark plug, you can also see the same brown down the spark plug well. torque the new ones to the proper spec and you should be fine.
