Bypass valve vacuum line connection points

Hey all, new here. My wife’s 1.4l has been throwing p0171 & p2261. I been replacing parts, payin
for dealership time and generally pulling my hair out trying to get the codes cleared. I’ve replaced the intake manifold, valve cover twice, mass airflow, o2 sensors, that clip-on 12” piece on the top
of the intake manifold and probably some other parts.
Today I got 2261 & 171, so I go online and check it out. The P2261 is turbo or the turbo bypass valve. I’ve replaced it before also. But looked it over and found the long vacuum line was split on the
intake side. Cut it off and put it back together and cleared the codes and went for a test ride. It ran as good as it ever has. The light is out and the 0171 is cleared but the 2261 is still on the reader, but now it is shown as not critica, just middle bad code. By chance I read were someone pulled the dip stick while running, so I tried it an I am getting a whistling sound. Does anyone have an idea about what is wrong? Thanks, Jonathan

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you found the vaccum leak! At idle there will be vaccuum so it may make that sound through dipstick. I think some codes need drive cycles to clear.
What year cruze and mileage? List your car info in your profile and say hi in the new member thread.

yes code clearing , present, pending, and permanent

present is what the computer sees, pending is what the computer is either testing for or needs to test. these two can be deleted by a code reader. the last, permanent, is a code set in history and needs a drive cycle to erease... cant be deleted
