I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere but my check engine light recently came on and the cabin immediately started smelling like chemicals. The closest thing I can compare it too is paint thinner or nail polish. It's incredibly strong when I first get into my car, or when i idle. Any ideas?

Roll the windows down and get it to your dealership. When you get it there roll them back up so the odor will accumulate for the service advisor to smell.

Acetone or VOC smell.

Happened to a boss of mine 30 some years ago. Caused him and his passenger to vomit. Was traced to his A/C and easily repaired.
