I have a 2014 1.8 Cruze with 49000 on it I was changing the oil and noticed the cams looked interesting I don’t know if it is normal or not for it to look worn at the cam lobe. If anyone could let me know that would be great.

The scuffing you see on the cam 'toe' is entirely normal and is the only point where the rocker components actually can touch the cam.
The remainder of the cam 'base circle' is essentially never in contact with the rocker while exerting any pressure.

Although many folks think the highest mechanical potential wear point of a engine are the rod bearing or piston pin areas the actual highest pressure point of any four stroke engine is the cam to rocker interface at the 'toe'........the highest potential oil shear point.

Hope everyone has a great holiday!
