Ended up taking the car to a mechanic and it has been there for 3 weeks now. Not sure yet what they tried but so far they can't figure it out either. Once the issue is discovered I'll update this forum as to the solution.

Have you figured it out? I’m having the same exact issue with my 2012 Chevy Cruze. Mine has the codes p0420 and p0442.

So was it the coil pack that fix the issue of randomly dieing and having issues with starting.
Only asking because my **** Cruze is doing the same.
