Car won't start

Hey guys. Wife just called and said the car won't start. It's a 2012 1.4l turbo. It's worked perfectly fine up until this point. About to head home to look at it, but with hardly any car knowledge, anything I can check before calling a mechanic?

She says all the lights are flashing, the car just will not start. Battery maybe?

Check the battery voltage. If below 12 volts try jump starting. If above 12 volts, not much else you can do. Except test battery. Might read 12 volts but if it's a surface charge only. You won't have the amps to crank.

If by chance you can jump start. Check charging volts. Should be 14 volts or better.

How old is the battery? Might be time for a replacement. If everything is working properly battery should read around 12.6 volts fully charge.
Just a simple battery it seems. I jump started her and it cranked right up. It's the original battery so probably time to get a new one. Thanks!

I had to replace my battery just last month-- had a bad cell. But what can one expect from a three-year-old battery these days?
How many miles you got on that 12 ? Always Curious.

Currently 84,550. Plan on driving it until it won't start ever again lol

If you have not shopped for a battery in awhile... You're going to be shocked! The price of those things are sky-high now. anywhere from $150-$250 price range. I got mine at the dealership, for $159 installed.
I just got it at Walmart. First time I've ever had to buy a battery. $132 :/ Could always be worse I suppose
