My first instinct is that the broken wire is your problem. Also, you probably did hit something if the wire is broken. Or you've encountered a 1-in-a-gazillion coincidence of the wire failing while you were fishtailing.I have a 2013 chevy cruze. I turned a curve too sharp and tried to straighten up, but over corrected. Fishtailed then ended up on the side of the road. Never hit a curb, no ditch, didnt hit anything. Car just cut off and stopped. When I tried to turn the key, everything electrical came on except the steering. All light, radio, power locks, everything worked, except it would turn over or start. I looked under and there is a wire cut in half, but it looked like it went to the steering. Wondering what it is that is causing the car to not turn over and start.
The car is stuck on the side of the road, right? So you need to get it towed somewhere before the cops have it towed ($$$$).
If you think you can fix the wire, have it towed home. Do you have towing with your insurance? It comes in really handy for stuff like this.
Otherwise, if you think it's beyond your skill set, then have it towed to a garage you trust.
