Carfax Report for Timing belt

831 5
Is anyone able to run a dealer service history report for me to see if the timing belt has been done on my 2014? Was told it was done around 180k but cannot find any proof. Thanks in advance!! I can see maintenance record for around that mileage but no info on what was done.

You want someone to buy your carfax for you?

You can find various information yourself for free on Google. It's what I did for my truck I just purchased.

I've never seen repairs listed on any of my carfax reports.

No I don’t want someone to buy my carfax. Was told it should show up in the dealer service history, wasn’t sure if anyone had the ability to see that or not (I.e. works at a dealership) have seen plenty of threads with guys getting help on finding service history before on other forums.

Most dealer networks use autocheck now so if there is a service history it would be there.

Having said that many of those dealers simply do not. There is very little advantage. So, if there is a record its usually just mileage but most mileage info comes from this.

Carfax mostly gets its info from insurances and public records. Very few shops report to them now. Like 10 years ago they managed to get lots of service info by blackmailing dealers and shops, but most have wised up and closed their doors.

In other words, it's all a load of ****. We used to clear car faxes on our vehicles before selling as they were never accurate (literally a letter from a lawyer which cost $200 would give $5,000 by removing nonexistent damage). So, what does that tell you?

If the repair was done by a GM dealer you should be able to ask the local dealer to print a history report on the car. If it was done by an indie shop then unless it was reported then no luck. From what i understand it should have been done at 100K miles. If you can find no documentation then assume worst case scenario that it is now due.

hopefully it was done by a dealer, so it can be logged.. my car has had timing belt done twice, with no sort of service history since my local mechanic did the job. Along with my oil changes every 4K miles, as I do myself
