CEL/car not started

Wow, that check engine light stated way back in 1980 on some vehicles, 1985 most of them had that light, in 1996 was the start of OBD 2 where on board diagnostics was suppose to be standardized for all vehicles.

We hope and pray that check engine light comes in the the run position, then goes off shortly after the engine starts. If it doesn't go off, then we have problems.

On your Cruze there is a female socket located on the lower left hand corner of the instrument panel. There you can plug in a scanner to find out why that check engine light is staying on.

If you live an an emissions testing area, and that light stays on, you will not pass the test, if you are my daughter, you will be calling me for help.

Can be a simple problem like your gas cap is loose, or something major that will cause your engine or transmission to burn up.

In my Cruze owners manual it tells me to go to my dealer for $$$$$, but they leave off the $$$$$ if the check engine light stays on, screw you, I have my own scanner and a heck of a lot more brains.

In my 88 Supra Turbo a display on its instrument panel tells me what's wrong for all five computer systems, I don't need to buy a scanner.

On my Chevy P-30 motorhome chassis, no check engine light at all, but very simple to find what the problem is, doesn't have all this new crap.

Ha, 1985 Honda SEI had 15 codes, here is a list of just the P codes for the Cruze, also have B, C, and U codes.


Ha, forget it, this board would only post what you see, actually over 325 different P codes.

Total of all the codes, definitely exceeds 500 different codes.
