Alot of ppl in Canada would rather buy a civic or corolla. Lately though everyone has a cuv or suv. Almost see more of those than cars now.

Time to bring those jobs back from Mexico?

Tooling up Lordstown to produce hatchbacks would not be a cheap endeavor - they'd likely lose a significant amount of money on that.

And since GM won't separate sedan and hatchback sales reporting outside of the company, it will be most difficult to know if the volumes would make retooling Lordstown to assemble hatches financially doable. Civic hatches are built in England and not in either N.A. plant.

Cruze sedans are selling better than the hatches, at least in my region.
That's to be expected, though I feel like I saw something stating the hatches were selling better than expected (which was only about 5-10%).

Yes, they are selling better than expected, but the sedans are dominating. I've sold 3 (4 if you include my own) hatches and 15 sedans myself.

I feel like I've probably seen those three hatches. Seeing a hatch on the road is still a rare, exciting event. Seeing the sedan is commonplace now.

Maybe if you made the drive out here you'd see one up close. When are we doing lunch? hahaha.

i got over 6 grand in rebates when i bought mine last month, that might have had something to do with it?
Not likely, because (at least where I'm at) the Cruze has been just as strong this month.

It's really a matter of advertising, total redesign, the hatch release, and incentives. It's the bigger picture.

My first thought was wondering if the rental car agencies were refreshing their inventory.

Gen 2 Sedans everywhere here, probably see 6+ every hour I drive. I have yet seen a hatchback in the wild, only a lonely row of them unsold on a dealer lot.

I commute across Detroit ~80 miles daily, can't say I have ever seen a Cruze Hatch in person. I will keep an eye out, could be that I wasn't looking for them (like how I started noticing 1st Gen Cruzes everywhere when I got mine, now I notice maybe 5-10 Cruzes per daily commute if I were to guess).

I want a hatch so bad, but I cannot afford the higher payment and the loss I would take trading in my current Cruze. Gonna pay this one off, give it to my fiance, and get a hatchback once they're broken in. lol I am a little worried, like many cars, the first ones will have a bunch of problems. Same reason I didn't get a 2011 Cruze. (and at that time I will be able to get a used one for way cheaper assuming they also do not hold their value long)
