I’ve read a few threads and what’s up with this and replacing the clutch? Why can’t I just reuse what’s currently on the car? I’m getting my transmission replaced and I haven’t had any clutch problems. I’d want to replace the clutch but I don’t know what parts I really need. I saw the GM alignment tool is like $700 I’m not doing that there must be some shadetree way of doing it?

And what’s the deal with the pilot bushing? It sits on the crankshaft because otherwise there’s a gap? Can I buy from the dealer?

Thw Trans shaft sits inside the pilot bushing. The bushing keeps the shaft spinning in straight center.

Clutch kits used to come with the alignment tool.
