At 68k, I noticed a drop in coolant level and took it to dealer. I'll skip the part about the dealer being a jackass and telling me that the cooling system is not part of the power train, as if the car could last very long without it! Car was cold and it was a 15 minute drive to dealer. Popped hood at dealer and coolant was seeping out of one skinny hose connecting top of engine to the top of the expansion tank. It's where the vertical end of hose connects to a plastic housing. Right next to the oil filler cap.

Dealer relented and I paid for $14.00 part and they installed for free.

No more smell, no more coolant loss.

Congrats on getting your dealer to do the install for you. For some reason hoses aren't covered under the power train warranty. Welcome to CruzeTalk.

Thanks for the tip - no coolant smell yet (2011 ECO 18k miles) - but if it does - will check that connection.
