I was just going through the engineering mode menu today(hit config once for the config menu then after hold info on that menu page) I noticed this option linear sound on the tuner page. I checked the box and the sound difference was night and day. I wonder if this is a setting that is used for the pioneer sound system so it sounds fuller but I know mine now seems like it can be cranked much higher on any source without sounding "tinny" or over driven , It does change the sound on all sources not just tuner, It will mute when u change its state but a simple click of volume brings it back to the same level you were at. I also was able to adjust the high cut for the tuner in there and made the tuner work a little better.

Anyone else every look into this? I am running a stock 2012 nav unit with amp interface PAC and it made such a difference in sound.
