Cruze question from Australia

Hi All, especially my American counterparts!

I have a 2010 Holden Cruze CD Manual with the 1.8 petrol. It only came with one key however. I have seen the you tube clips where you can program a new key with the Chevy Cruze by inserting first the existing (working key), turning the ignition on, then removing the existing key and inserting the new key and again turning on the ignition. Does anyone know whether this will work on the Holden Cruze's? Buying a blank key with the electronics off ebay and getting the key cut and then programming it myself will save hundreds of dollars.

Thanks.

Damo

Is it a JG or JH? Run the VIN through an on-line analyser and it will tell you.

The JG was built in Korea, a Korean eBay-sourced key might work.

The JH is built in Oz. Pay the money.

It's a 2009 JG, so Korean built (VIN KL3JF69RJAK565781). I was hoping the electronics would be the same as the American cars.
Nope. The JG is a completely different beastie to the US-build.
