If you still have your B2B, this would be covered. Surprisingly I have seen this peeling/bubbling plastic chrome on quite a few cars(not just the cruze).

Not so much defective as unable to tolerate the continual dousing of the chemicals thrown on the road.

Stuff is so extreme now that even plastic corrodes......as stated though, Chevy usually will warranty it if you still in base coverage.

I'm amazed that car bodies generally can make ten years of chemical exposure....up till the late eighties six years was a stretch.....70's and earlier were three to five.

I get jealous of the gang that don't operate in the snow belt......they just get to deal with paint fade and interiors getting crispy.

GM has special procedures in the manual for taking care of these chrome pieces, also bulletins about it as well.
