Add me to the list of success stories. I took my car (2011 Cruze Eco MT) to a dealer early December to check for an update and they had nothing to update DB/DB. I ended up ordering 22797218 and replaced module 20985754 with it and now have version DB/DD. Play/pause works on my stereo now (with an IPod Nano Gen 3) and now I also have bluetooth audio. Time will tell if the source selection recall is any better, but that was a minor issue. I just wanted my play/pause button to work as it should, everything else is a bonus.

I'm disappointed that Chevy can't or won't release this update for the car, but at $80, I can't complain too much.

thanks a bunch, guys... i just went out to my new ride and got a2dp going in under 10 minutes... no tools used, no scratches, save the ones on my hands. will hold on to the old one just in case things go south with the new pdim.

I had at least a small amount of buyers remorse after i found i had no bluetooth streaming (i assumed it had phone + audio), but now I'm borderline thrilled with the system. Still considering putting in a sub, but having A2DP is by far the most important thing for me. Kinda sad, but its that big of a deal to me.


Funny, It actually works better than all the aftermarket bluetooth head units I've had in previous cars.

Read through the entire thread. Can anyone confirm that this new PDIM will work with a 2012 LTZ with navigation? Like other peope have said, I tried to hold the menu button, but nothing happens. How can I find out what HW/SW versions I have?? I can already connect to my phone for hands-free calling, but have no way to stream music through Pandora. Thanks in advance.

Have you taken your console apart to see if there is a PDIM in there that has two cables coming out of it. One cable goes to the radio and the other goes to the USB/3mm jack. The cable to the UBS/3mm jack is a standard USB connection with a shroud to mechanically secure it. This cable also splits into two cables right at the clip - one of which is for the 3mm jack.

If you have this configuration chances are the BlueTooth PDIM will work. It adds menu options underneath the AUX menu.

Hmm, I'll have to take a look. If I'm not mistaken, when I go into the AUX menu with my phone plugged into the aux port, there is options under it. Thanks for the reply. Is there any way that you know of to check the version from within the nav unit itself?

I would be very surprised if your AUX interface isn't already DB/DB or DB/DD. According to the guys over on the Camaro forums, DB/DD was released in late 2010. This would be about the same time the Cruze production line was starting up. DB/DB interfaces can also be upgraded. You read the version as hardware/software. DB is the current hardware version and DD is the current software version.

I am not aware of anyway to check PDIM HW/SW on the nav unit. Only Cruzes with the stock radio can use the "MENU" trick (that I'm aware of, anyway...).

I also need my trunk space pretty regularly, and have no intention of dropping $1000 on that sub that mounts in the left corner of the trunk. (doesn't have very good reviews anyway)

Just a note for one of the admin/moderators, it might be a good idea to go back and amend the OP with the fact that you have to go into the auxilary menu to connect the bluetooth streaming device. The original post just makes it seem like all you have to do is play back music and it will work through the original BT connection. I was about to give up and put the original one back in when I happened to come across page 7 or 8.

Since there are many like you, I've designed a subwoofer kit that requires very little space but provides more than adequate sub-bass support in the form of an 8" high-excursion subwoofer. This subwoofer requires about 0.35 cubic feet of internal space, allowing for a very small design that would occupy less space than a child's backpack. It is by no means an "SPL" subwoofer, but will adequately produce deep, musical bass notes. The kit including the amplifier, subwoofer, and subwoofer box would cost around $400 (give or take $25 depending on design), which is significantly less than the OEM options out there at this time while providing vastly better sound quality.

Should you need additional output, two of them can be used and still occupy only 0.7 cubic feet, or about the size of a normal backpack, although at this point you may be paying a premium simply for the space savings of the particular drivers. They would have output comparable to somewhere between a single 10" and a single 12" subwoofer and would come in at around $440 not including the amplifier. A suitable amplifier would cost around $150.

There are many options that I can give you that will depend on your system goals and your budget. All you need to do is ask.

As for it being cold right now, that shouldn't be of too much concern as I wouldn't be able to have any new orders built for at least another 1.5-2 months. Most people don't find this to be a problem as they are willing to wait for a very high quality product that is built by hand with great attention to detail.
