I have scoured this thread for an answer to my question, and I think I get it, but want to clarify in my case, before spending the money. I have a 2011 Cruze LT1. I have aux, but no onstar, bluetooth, or USB. I would like to install this upgrade, but only if it means this would add USB connectivity. Is this possible? (I have the most basic of the stock headunits). Thank you!

I completed this upgrade a couple of weeks ago. Wanted to wait to make sure it worked ok before posting.

I used part #: 20893388 which is a GM part that was replaced by the recommended part number. Got it on eBay for $45.00 + shipping.

Works perfectly. I'm very happy I was able to make this upgrade because it was driving me nuts that I had a smartphone capable of bluetooth streaming and a new car with bluetooth that could not. I was even more frustrated when I found that GM has been putting this into other models since 2010. How much could GM be saving over a fully functional bluetooth PDIM?

EDIT: I have a 2012 Cruze 1LT with Onstar/XM/Bluetooth option.

I'm sad to announce as someone with a 2012 Chevy Cruze LTZ with the touchscreen/bluetooth/xm/nav, that these instructions and the PDIM(22797218) do NOT work. I did something stupid and ordered the part before reading to confirm it would work(since I had read nothing but success stories). But as it turns out the stock PDIM itself is deeper in the dash(I never even actually SAW the stock PDIM). But I COULD see where the harness and USB cables connect. I was able to get to those and disconnect them, and I was content with leaving the stock one in there so long as the new one could fit in. However, the USB connection in my car is full sized USB, not the 5pin mini-usb utilized by the new PDIM. Also, the harness connection pins were very different as well(I'm sure that's related to the SD card/Nav slot).

Thus far I've also been unable to locate another version of the PDIM that supports the nav. If anyone could possibly point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

I'm VERY disappointed. :(

That is a really old version. The current version is at least DB/DB.

I think it's been mentioned a few times already that this only work with the stock radio. You should have read a little bit more...

Take the two PDIMs to your local computer store and find a cable that will convert from one to the other.

Whiiiich, my car didn't come with. Just the pioneer. Anyone noticed this being an issue if you have your music on a usb stick?
USB stick should work just fine.

Sorry to Necrothread this but I just bought the new replacement module for the Camaro. The install literally took about 15 minutes including pulling off the panels and pulling out the two 7mm screws for the change holder. It definitely is a little tight in there but not as tight as described in the video. My stock module was not just hanging there it was actually in a sleeve clipped into place. Installed the new module and it works like a charm.

I had the same experience when I installed my Bluetooth PDIM.

hey just out of curiosity. when streaming music via Pandora or Slacker radio how much data will I burn or does it vary from carrier to carrier? I have 6gb/month. Verizon never offered me an unlimited plan

I just installed mine today and can only find the Bluetooth connection for calls with my vehicle. Did I miss something? Take the old one out, connect the 2 cables into the new one, replace trim......

It's on the AUX/CD menus.
