I mean, it "cancels" if you touch the brake pedal...I assume this is handled by the BCM and/or ECM.
A little tough to see in the component pics but it’s item #7. Looks like there are 6 wires on two sensors. My guess is, it’s the three going to the engine control module since it controls the engine speed and not the brake lights.I am not referring to the steering wheel controls.
I assume it does, but I cannot find any information on either the location or part number. If anyone has a schematic, actual picture, parts link or even just the part number that would be helpful.
Thanks for looking.
So there is only one switch that controls both functions? I had assumed there was two.A little tough to see in the component pics but it’s item #7. Looks like there are 6 wires on two sensors. Good luck.
Two sensors? Where is the other?I believe the car will set a code if the two position sensors don't agree. I'm not sure if cruse control is implemented in the BCM or the PCM.
You haven't said what the issue is.
The schematic diagram shows a box around both sensors and that usually means it’s one component. And the part pictured on RockAuto looks like it has a six-wire plug.So there is only one switch that controls both functions? I had assumed there was two.
FYI I have an auto
I figured as much. I was looking for a way to automatically release the cruise without manual input. The schematic diagram shows a box around both sensors and that usually means it’s one component. And the part pictured on RockAuto looks like it has a six-wire plug.
Note that they are not switches. They are potentiometers (variable resistors). One wires to the body control module for brake lights as shown in the schematic, and the other one wires to the engine control module. One of them controls ABS and traction control functions so I’d be careful tapping into them for a project. If you change the resistance that the computer is looking for, the effects could be ugly.
I don’t know what you’re trying to do but tapping into the brake light circuit would be easier and safer.
