I was wondering which EGT sensor monitors temperatures during DPF regeneration, I suspect it's EGT2 but I'm not sure. I believe the (fuel) injector upstream the DOC is malfunctioning and I need to monitor the DPF temperature during the regenerations in order to diagnose this injector. EGT2 reads temps high as 780F (at 120km/hr speeds) and as low as 300F (engine idle speeds). Thanks for any help.

During Regen all three egts will be used. EGT1 for pre DOC temp, EGT2 for post DOC/pre DPF temp, and EGT3 for post DPF temp. The temps you see seem normal for driving, if you were to force a Regen you should see about 500-600F on EGT1, 1000-1100 on 2 and 1100-1200 on 3, all those are approximate but it's generally that kind of step between sensors. These cars don't use a separate injector upstream, they use the engines injectors on an exhaust stroke to deliver fuel for regen.

IIRC my EGT2 always read around 1085⁰F-1200⁰F during a regen, yours seem low. Also I believe the Cruze just adds fuel during the exhaust stroke for a regen, no separate injector like the larger diesels.
