You are seeing the results of a very oversized radiator for the displacement it must cool.

Most system return hoses will be warmish.....the only time the Cruze hose is warmish is mid summer, hot days, A/C on.

During Chicago winters, I think the heater core does more than the radiator......others will agree.

Regardless, your Cruze is OK.

Regarding that overheat code from last year......for whatever reason, the sensor (not the sender) got some gremlin that evidently was a one time shot.......as you said, hopefully a one time occurence.

Thanks Rob. I've always worked on cars all my life. My Father and Grandfather were both mechanics. Restored several over the years. Never have seen this before. Does make sense now that you mentioned it. I have been well pleased with this car so far. This is the first small car I have ever owned, bought for my daughter, but I have been driving it some, and really like the thing. All my other cars are V-8's, V-6's, and Duramax diesel. I may end up taking this away from her, it is a lot of fun to drive!
I agree.....one of the nicer econobox/daily drivers I've owned.
I have three 4cyl cars....Cruze and two Miatas......obviously different animals......everything else is gas V-8, Camaro, Magnum, Silverado.

But like you obseved, the Cruze is just a good driving car.....and easy on fuel to offset the amount I go through with the toys.

Regards and Happy New Year,

Rob
