Hello fellow Cruze owners,

I bought a brand new 2014 Cruze about 3 years ago and my warranty is about to expire. I get a lot of calls from companies who are offering extended warranties at outrageous prices and I mostly write them off as spam. I've also gotten estimates from Chevy through the mail.

As a first time new car buyer, I am very unfamiliar with car warranties and I just want to make sure I don't get ripped off. I figured some of you Cruze owners have been in the same position as me and maybe you could give me some advice.

I only have about 15k miles on my car and don't drive it too much. Is warranty a necessity or would you guys recommend it? Also if I don't get warranty before it expires, can I purchase one at a later time or will it be too late/more expensive?

Thanks everybody!

Thank you guys for the quick replies!

I definitely want piece of mind. Both of my front speakers blew out and something broke last time they changed my oil and it was all covered under warranty. I think the Cruze is a sturdy car but I'm not going to lie, I blast my music and drive it like it's stolen. Not to mention, I have a sunroof and the chevy link media player and those are known to cause problems.

I'll definitely look into the GMEPP. You guys said it was about $1000 with all monthly payments added up, so that doesn't sound too bad at all! Thanks again.
