It took maybe 10 minutes because it was one of those pumps that doesn't like to trickle. But I finally got it filled to rim...literally. Wonder if I shook the car, maybe I could have burped it...you know, just to squeeze in another ounce. Total fill was 16.2 gallons, and the amber light had not yet come on before I pulled into the station. I'm guesstimating the total to be around 18 gallons. Does that sound close?

At $1.88 a gallon, is there a cheaper, four-wheeled driving experience?

I can usually get 3 gallons in after it clicks off. I am thinking that from empty you could probably squeeze just about 19 gallons in there.

18.3 gallons from empty. I've pulled into the station exactly as the fuel light came on (which is 2 gallons remaining), and added 16.3 gallons. Using the lowest notch on the pump, it should click off with exactly 15.6 in the tank, after which you can add another 2.7 gallons. I kept track for about 6 months noting the various points and measurements to arrive at this.
