2014 1.4L Cruze
Recently my battery died and was unable to open the door manually with the Fob stem. Had to call road assistance to open the door. Normally, I opened the car with the Fob, and this works well providing the battery is not dead. I tried opening the door after replacing the battery but still unsuccessful. No other problem with the Fob except not able to open the door. I have 2 Fobs but unable to manually open the door.

Any suggestion to fix the situation will be great.

Is the key in upside down, pushed in too far, or not pushed in far enough? I unlock my Cruze manually all the time. The lack of electrical power does not affect the manual lock.

There is a procedure to reprogram the key fobs but I think it requires having at least one working key fob to initiate the programming. Otherwise you might require a trip to the dealer.

I did orient the key any possible, upside down, depth adjustment, etc. and still unable to unlock the door.

Will reprogram fix this issue?

Is it possible there has been either a door replacement or fob replacement so that the key portion of the fob no longer is a correct match to the lock in the door. While the fob could have been reprogrammed to electronically operate the door locks, no reprogramming will help if the key isn't cut to match the cylinder in the lock.
If the key still works inserted into the steering column to start the car, then the problem might be in a mismatched door lock cylinder.
Have you tried some lubrication of the lock cylinder? powdered graphite or WD-40?

Yes, the both keys start the car and I did lubricate the lock a few times with WD-40.

EDIT: I just reread the dialog here and mixed two different response to get the answer below. Are you using the correct key? If you are there has to be a mechanical failure inside the door if it will not open - Unless you have been in the door, this is not likely.

1. Step on the brake and hold it
2. Grasp the wheel about 1 o'clock with your left hand and try to rotate counterclockwise
3. Turn the key

Never use oils in the ignition or on the key, Use some compressed air to somewhat dry it out. Use graphite instead.
