Hey, so I had the dreaded check valve failure, installed the pcv fix kit, I'm assuming it's the front crank seal, but just wanted to be sure. Is it normal for the oil pan to get this coated as well?

Yeah, a couple leak points when the PCV check valve disappears are:

-Front crank seal (most commonly a chirping, but sometimes an oil leak as well)
-Front cam phaser seals
-Oil cooler/filter housing
-Oil pan gasket
