Hi all,
I’m having an issue with the fuel gauge on my 2014 Cruze diesel. About 1 out of every 4 times I park the car and walk away from it (could be 15 minutes or all night), the fuel gauge will read about 1-2 marks below the true level; then, it will gradually increase while I drive (increases about 1 mark for every 20 minutes spent driving), until reaching the accurate level.

Has anybody experienced this? If so, what should I be looking at? Makes me wonder if the fuel level sensor is float-based or if it has some other pressure-based sensor.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

Update: it does happen when the tank is full and I am parking on flat, level ground. I’ve decided to live with it for now, annoying but not the end of the world. If the sensor / sending unit / etc. goes out completely, I’ll look to replace. Thanks for the replies.
