I want to see if people get confused on the whole 2016 deal. I have a gen 2 2016 LT that I truly consider to be a 16. The 16 Limiteds to me are just 15s that were continued production with a new number added. Same thing with Malibus, I recently had to rent a car before I got my cruze and Enterprise told me they had a 16 Malibu but come to find out it was a Limited in LTZ guise.

Yep - it does confuse some folks. The regulars here are pretty good at keeping the 16's straight.

Yep, way easier when they come in and say "16 LT1" as we know there is only (1) LT in the 2nd gens. Tread moved to where people can help you better.
In the US, 2011 was the first year of the gen 1 model, wasn't it?

Correct, but the Gen 1 Cruze was running around elsewhere starting in 2009.

Yes, and according to Wikipedia, there's a 2015 Gen2 in China. So, there's a least a two-year overlap if we're talking world-wide.

I just found that article. It looks like the new Chevrolet factory in China started out producing the 2nd Generation Cruze.
