on my trip to lords town i did 850 miles to my diesel tank. 67.3 mpg at 55mph. at ¼ tank comp says 120 miles left and i could have made 1,000 but my co pilot she got mad and said no to risking it.... keep her happy she keeps you happy. just cruse at 55mph and youll do it easy
Was the 67.3 MPG average at 55 MPH for your 25 mile average, or the average for the entire tank?

This is what I got from a drive a few weeks ago. A/C was on max cause it was like a million degrees out,

Pretty big spread. This is not taking into account turns or anything. I do notice the vehicle coasts alot more at 55 than it does at 65 and 80. Which points to the loss of economy.

98% of my 180 mile round trip daily commute is highway/interstate. The 4 miles that aren't highway miles are country roads back to my house with only two stop signs.

The route is very hilly. There aren't many big hills, but there is very little, if any flat sections. So much in fact, that I have thought about driving with an inclinometer to measure the time at 0° and get an accurate answer to how little flat roads there are.

I have noticed the same thing. Aerodynamic drag seems to ramp up pretty quick above 65 mph.

I only run my AC when the wife or friend is in the car. I don't want them to know how crazy I have become over fuel consumption. Running the AC hides that fact, a little.

I bet DFCO is triggering on those downslopes. It takes very little slope to put these cars into DFCO.

I go into DFCO a lot.

I have been experimenting with coasting in neutral under certain circumstances.

Also I have been trying a pulse-n-glide on some hills. On the down hills I accelerate while keeping the instant mpg above 65. I try and gain a few MPHs on the downhill and coast over the next hill. Mixed results so far.

I have found that the cruise control does a better job of getting better fuel economy than my attempts to do the same thing manually.

during my record mpg ohio run i would give it some gas down the hills to keep me at 75 but just barly then on the up hill hold the throttle around 18% to keep some speed on the uphill then the car gradually slowed to 45 50 mph and then just keept it there. seemed to work well for me

I tried similar things and it always seemed like the cruise control still did a better job over the same stretches.

Brad, I updated my records to show the 1,007 miles. Your previous best was 1,001 miles.

getting ever closer to hyper fail badge lol
I'm sure it isn't far off! I keep getting more confidence in my ability to interpret the fuel gage, distance-to-empty and fuel used data pages. But there is only one way to know the true limits......stay tuned.

Very nice again.. I still plan on joining this club but I'll have to wait until I can drive again.. I'll have some time to waste before going back to work after my knee replacement.. Hope to be driving in a couple more weeks.. With the new highway near me I might be able to get in the club
