So, I know that GM will do anything to save a buck on these cars and I guessed that the pcb, printed circuit board, would be identical in Cruzes with and without fog lights.

I started out by completely tearing down the module. First you need to remove the indicator dial by gripping the outer ring and pressing in with your thumbs. Second, start prying out on the six tabs that line the outer edge. And finally use a small screwdriver to pry on the tabs holding the fake button in.

Next I located the tabs that controlled the fog lights and soldered leads to pads for testing. I used a multimeter to find the correct locations.
The Euro version has front and rear fog lights. The blue wire is the front, and the green wire is the rear. The white with blue stripe is a ground.

I reassembled everything making sure that I didn't work the solder loose from any of the pads and stuck it back in my car. By briefly touching the blue wire to the white with blue stripe I was able to turn on and off the fog lights. The bcm acts as the latch to latch the lights on or off.

This is a great way to check if you need your bcm reprogrammed or drill a hole and use a small momentary tact switch superglued on the inside of the fake button to trigger your aftermarket fog lights.

Do the front and rear fog lights come on at the same time in the Euro models? It would be nice to run a different set of lights, like a light bar, off the rear fog circuit and have separate control of it.

The switch acts as a signal telling the bcm to turn on the fog lights. I assume that the rear fog light button would toggle a separate switch in the bcm that you would have to get programmed by a dealer and might not even be compatible with a US wiring harness.

Also toyed with this on my 2012 2LT, all of the fog light wiring is on that stock non-fog lamp switch and the center of the headlamp switch has a block in it so you cannot press on the switch. And the PCB contacts for that push button switch was missing.

I found that point on the underhood fuse/relay box and use a 35 watt bulb and by hitting the correct contacts on the OE switch was able to switch that bulb on and off. The reason why I did this, is because some dirty basterds at GM was switching the firmware so adding fog lamps would no longer work. I wanted to make darn sure the fog lights would work first. Dealer wanted another $105.50 to reprogram the BCM so the fog lights would work. Mine did work and purchased it before these dirty basterds started to fool with it.

Was patient on ebay, some dealer offered the complete OE kit for 120 bucks with free shipping on an auction, no one else bidded on it.

What we should do is to kill a pedestrian when making a corner, and sue GM for a billion bucks. Never driven any vehicle whatsoever that had such poor side lighting. The fog lamps should be standard, and would only cost the these basterds another six bucks to add them as stock.

My fogs were installed by a professional, me.
