It has -40 when it is very hot outside an air wont cool as well it starts working fine then read no temp but air never cools goes from no temp to -40 when its 85 hotness outside

After replacement - keep in mind the outside air temperature setting doesn't update immediately after startup unless the car has been sitting for more than 4 hours (I think, maybe 2 hours). If it has been running within that time window, it updates after a few minutes of driving.

What Thebigzeus says is true but see mine did the exact same thing last summer make sure it didnt come off its mount on the back of fog light cover mine did and was sitting in the engine bay reading ac off due to high engine temp but before that for some reason it wasn't clipped on to the connector all the way and read -40
