Wife's LT1 is over a year old with under 4000 miles...All the posts on coolent smell/leaks is a concern although we have not noticed any unusual odors or leaks(under the car)...
I noticed the "plastic, coolent tank has an arrow near the top of the tank....does this indicate where the coolent level should be when cold...????

That arrow is the max fill level cold. Rest assured that if there is any coolant in that tank, then it is "extra," and the engine is safe. Just keep an eye on the temp gauge.

One would think that arrow should indicate the maximum HOT coolant level. However after just going outside and looking at my tank and re-reading my owners manual it appears as though that arrow IS the COLD coolant level. Looks like I could add about 1/2 qt tonight.
