Hello. I am a new member. I am having an issue with my 2012 Chevy Cruze. A week ago, I drove to work and when I parked in the parking lot, and tried to turn the car off, it would not turn off. The lights/dashboard turned off and the message No Remote Detected showed up. This happened again on Thursday. I was able to get the car to turn off by hitting the lock button on the remote twice and then hitting the automatic start button. I am concerned that if I continue to do this, the car eventually will not turn on.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Wild guess, but possibly the batteries going dead in your remote? Have you changed them?
I didn't. I just started using the second key that I was given. I thought that might be the reason as well. To change the battery, would I need to go to a dealership?

Look in your owners manual. There should be instructions on changing the batteries in the remote.
