Hi, I was just wondering if anyone would know why my car is idling higher at start then usual? Normally it sits just below 1000 rpm but has been idling around 1500 for 10-20 seconds then drops down to a little below 1000 rpm this just started happening about 5-6 days ago. Also I find when I drive the car now it's taking a lot longer for the car to switch into the next gear but if driven in sport mode it is fine. It's a 2014 Cruze Lt with a automatic transmission and I'm not sure what happened when these problems started occurring because didn't have the car at the time. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

EDIT** I'm not getting any check engine lights or any codes.

I have a 14 1LT with the manual and it has always idled the way you described at startup. I cant see that the auto would be any different but can’t say for sure.

Yeah, that 3 step idle on a cold start is normal for a Cruze. 1500, 1000, 800.

Longer shifts might be indicative of another problem, but could be a wide variety of things.
