Hi everyone. New to this forum and wondering if someone can help. I have recently bought a 2020 cruze cdx and the engine has seized (from previous owner). Just wondering if the engine on the 2014 models 1.8 petrol will fit in to mine? Thanks in advance.

Would probably be a lot of work and expense to switch between diesel and gas(petrol)
Its not like in the days of4 speed auto and carburetors. A swap of engine and trans is a huge undertaking. Stick to stock and rebuild it, call it a day. Leave well enough alone
In Oz, a CDX is a trim level, one up from a CD.

Presuming the 2010 is a 1.8l (not a diesel), then the current Oz 1.8l should slot pretty much straight in, as far as I know they are the same Opel engine as is used in the Astra.

but if you swap the motor wont you need to swap harness and computers if its a automatic?
Thanks guys for the inputs. The new engine that i was looking onto is on a 2014 cruze Z series which has same F18d4 engine but with auto tranny on it. I had a look at it this arvo and it is exactly same as what is on my current car. I was wondering as well if the ecu on my cruze (manual tranny) will match on the other emgine with auto tranny.
Maybe. Talk to someone at a an engine reconditioning/replacement place, they would know.
