Now that it's paid off I want to buy some go fast parts, what have you guys found to be the best or fastest way to get power, it's been a dependable car for me this far. I think it's time to throw some parts at it and have some fun. Is there any chips or superchargers available for some immediate improvement?

At 230,000 miles on the original engine, go fast parts are NOT what you want unless you WANT to blow up the engine. If you want go fast goodies then the first money spent needs to be on an engine and trans rebuild

Really a tune is about it for the 1.8L.

I wouldn't be tuning a 230k mile car. I'd be seeing what I could do to keep it a reliable daily driver for as long as possible while on the look out for something new and potentially more fun to drive when it's no longer able to be counted on.

I agree with both Valpo Cruze and jblackburn.

When I was younger I drove older cars with 150,000+ miles. I modified every one of them. I did make them faster and more fun to drive but NONE of then lasted more than 2 years once they were modified.

The best analogy I can give you is: "A chain is only as strong as it weakest link." And once you modify, especially for power, you are constantly replacing the next weakest link until there is nothing else to replace or your piggy bank breaks.
