I have a 2014 ECO 1.4l Turbo and it runs great, I feel I'm always working on it o maintain that but overall, I have no complaints about how well its running and driving. I'm new to the forum and I've received a ton of information already - this has helped me with my current challenge. I have the P0420 and with almost 160k miles I have no doubt that its the actual Cat but want to follow the checklists I've found online to make sure nothing is going on that caused it or will screw up the next one. These are my two questions, I need to find out if these are symptoms of a bad cat or could they be causes: 1. Watching my O2 sensors I see post-cat O2 sensor (2) level out nicely when idling and driving but when I take my foot off the gas to come to a stop that sensor drops to 0 volts momentarily then goes back to .64-.72. Is that deceleration dip normal? and 2) I'm seeing my trim all over the place, not the 15% window I've seen online - I've seen swings from -29 to +31 percent and there is no trend I can find.
Appreciate any insight into what might be cause and what may be result of bad cat. BTW - I did do a smoke test to find any vacuum leaks that may exist - I did happen to find a bad intake gasket and repaired but it didn't change the symptoms.
