If these stock ic's really reach air outlet temps 40 degrees and above over ambient like some have been saying, then I don't see how a more efficient intercooler would decrease mpg.
They aren't making hard pipes for the factory intercooler right now because the stock one is supposedly so inneficient that it wouldn't be worth the money unless you are looking for cosmetics.
I could see some 400whp builds in the future with these cars that still average low 30's mpg but that won't come until the market is created. Once the market is created, prices will become competitive and lower. It's just a matter of time, some companies may be already looking into develop parts for the platform but do not want to take that plunge into R&D if they think there is no customer base.
