Hello,

My front left interior door handle has chrome paint peeling off it and has gotten really sharp to the point that it cuts into skin. Is it easy to replace these handles and how do I do it?

Thanks

Mine did exactly the same, I've been close to cutting myself with the sharp edges. I ended up removing the edges and applying transparent tape to it... much less classier than the chrome trim. :(
Old problem. Happened to some 2011s, 2012s, and 2013s. Same issues that you describe. B2B warranty should cover it. Otherwise, off to the parts department and service department.

Thanks, good idea actually, or I might put some clear nail polish on it and let it be. :)

Thanks. Warranty has finished, it's a 2010 UK model. I might just stick with the nail polish.
You can just also cut the peeled part off, then nail polish to smooth the edge.
I had exactly the same problem on my 2010 Cruze year after I purchased it. Dealer said it is not covered by warranty and I put transparent tape on it. Works fine so far so I just leave it like that.
Cheap as five bucks including shipping on ebay.
Thank you everyone, your help is much appreciated.

My dealer said that it's not covered but they'll replace it for free as a kind gesture. :)
On that same door where Chevy put a POS door handle on, on my door Chevy put on a POS weather strip. As hardheaded as my dealer was, he had no problem in replacing that POS weather strip.

So what's with your dealer? His he really doing you a favor? Or is he just doing what he is being paid to do?

What would happen if you cut your hand on that door handle, got an infection and died from it? Would be in for a multimillion lawsuit.
Ha, everything is relative, what I paid for my Cruze, purchased a home for the same amount around 40 years ago. Cars I had back then are long long gone, house is still there and 40 years older, and worth $140,000 today.
Lol

well it's not a main dealer, it's an independent dealer where I bought the car in used condition. They are still liable for it though, and I don't think they're doing me a favour, they just want me to think that. I'm just relieved because some dealers you have to go through heck to get them to fix something, but that's not the case here. :)
