Intermittent no outside temp and other issues w/radio display

On my wife's 2012 Cruse RS, occasionally it won't show an outside temp, nothing in that upper right corner. She says it has been doing it for awhile. At the same time it is doing this, she might attempt to shut the radio off and on, but won't respond to the power switch or it might if she pushes the power switch a couple times.
Tonight I was driving it and noticed the radio display was too bright, I tried to adjust the brightness down (switch by the headlight switch), and the cluster dimmed but the radio didn't, stayed full bright. My wife then brought to my attention that the outside temp was also missing. So my natural reaction was, as she had tried before, to try switching the radio off, withthe intention of turning it back on again. As soon as I pushed the power switch, the radio didn't switch off but the display dimmed to match the instrument cluster and the outside temp also appeared.
Just wondering if anyone had heard of the radio display(there is probably a better name for it than just "radio" since it displays the heater status, etc) acting weird like this. Car is way out of warranty at this point of course.

Anything plugged into your OBDII port? I think most of what you described is communicated over the car's bus rather than dedicated wires like older cars. If something is "chatting" on the bus, you might have strange delays like this as messages may not be getting through.

Infotainment Center -- ugh!

Hello Gilly,

We sincerely apologize for the delay in our response. Are you still experiencing this temperature display concern in your wife's Cruze? We would be more than happy to look into this further for you. If that is of interest, please feel free to send us a private message at your earliest convenience.

Has your negative battery cable been replaced? I believe it's warranted for 120,000 miles or 10 years. You're describing some of the symptoms listed in the PI for this replacement.
