Hello,

I have a 2014 chevy cruze 1LT automatic. Randomly throughout my drive I smell a burning smell. Other times I smell maybe a sweeter scent. The problem is, it is very infrequent. Even worse, it is usually when other cars are around (at a stop light for example) - maybe it's coming into my car from another car nearby? So I am not even sure if it is my car and it lasts for a few seconds. I cannot reproduce the odor. Usually have the heat on setting 3-4 and rear defrost going. Temp gauge less than half way.

My coolant level seems good and the dealership checked my coolant for the recall when I bought it in December 2014.

Am I just going crazy? Could it be a new car smell of something still breaking in? Car has 701 miles on it.

The car only has 700 miles on it, could just be the stickers on the exhaust pipe melting. Think I got a few strange smells as well the first 3-6K miles.
^^^this. Both of our new cars smelled like something burning at stops for a few thousand miles.

Plus when the heat is cranked way up in the Cruze, the new plastics smell for a few months as well.
