Hello! I have a silver 2014 Cruze Eco Manual. Totally bone stock.
I recently took a drive to Montana (about 400 miles) and the car did very well on the open road. The tall gears require some shifting on inclines, going up mountain passes and whatnot, but generally pulled well with my average speed of 70-75mph. My best fuel economy was 53.9, and my average (over 50 miles) was 45.8. of course, through the mountains in 5th gear, I didn't do so well.
My first order of business is getting a spare tire kit installed. Going up to the deep recesses of nowheresville, Northern Montana with no spare left me a little uneasy feeling at times.
A couple other things I'd like to get done would be tinted windows, wheels, (slight) lowering kit, change the trans fluid to eliminate the 1-2 shift change grind and switching spark plugs, which I read can help with throttle response. I'm sure I can find other things to do, but that's a good start. Or I may just leave it bone stock, except for the window tinting, which is totally necessary so I don't fry in the sun. I do want to keep costs down - that's kind of the point with an economy car.
My intention is to keep the car and hand it down to my daughter in a couple years when she turns 16 and gets her license. I'm personally a huge fan of hot hatches, but the older I get, the more I appreciate performance sedans.:tempted:
