Sounds like the previous owner cleared the code so it wouldnt show on a test drive.............you may have some recourse in your State - "as is" doesnt mean you can hide a problem.

exactly what I was thinking....iirc, my torqueApp tells me the days since the CEL was cleared. Chances are they cleared it and hoped it turn on down the road after it had sold.
