Leaky Tranny lines.

964 6
OK I posted this as a reply earlier but its probably a new question.

I see a number of Youtube vids where folks are repairing leaking transmission lines with oil cooler hose and simple hose clamps. Why can't we do this on the Cruze??

Would seem a cheap repair unless there is a good reason not to..

It is probably not a bad idea - it could potentially work, assuming you can isolate the source of the leak. Trans lines are low pressure, so it wouldn't take much to seal them up.

Thanks.. My thoughts exactly. I don't know hardly anything about autos as they are kind of frowned upon in the United Kingdom, cost of gas I presume. I live in the US now so its hard to find a manual..:)

I did know one guy who had a tranny cooler line blow off, but it didn't have a flare on the end of the tube so like duh! Of course it blew off.

I'm planning on two hose clamps on each end of the tube and maintaining the existing flares under the crimps (just grind off the crimps.. not cut the steel tube).

I will report back on how it goes.
