Some tests were conducted by the NRMA (National Roads and Motoring Association) research centre here in Australia into the costs of front and rear low-speed collisions (10km/h - 6mph) on some of the leading "light" cars and the Holden Barina (Chevrolet Sonic) was in a class of it's own! It's amazing to see the costs of some of the most popular cars; they're almost written off!

Explanation of the test:Small Car Crash Cost | NRMA Insurance

Results:IAG Research Centre - Repair costs

I'd like to think that the Cruze shares this design strength.

Is the Yaris a rebadged Yugo? The repair cost numbers for the Yugo were very similar to the Yaris.

I'm not sure and a quick google search has come up with a large variety of cars so I can't say.

In short, the Toyota Yaris is a smaller and cheaper version of the Toyota Corolla. They look like twins however the Corolla is a "small" car and the Yaris is a "light".
