I saw a picture of a cruze with the chrome trim on the trunk-lid blacked out and the owner moved the chrome cruze letters on the side to the black piece... I have attached it here
I have a black cruze so I’m going to black out the trunk lid piece with black plasti-dip.
I am wondering how to move the letters though... I know how to take them off (windex, floss, heat ) but not sure what kind of adhesive I should apply that won’t make a mess and will look as clean as in the picture.
MichaelD..Your whip looks tight! Good job! Looks really nice. I had my civic all plasti-ed out like that.. Not trying to do that look again. Going for a classy type of look rather than that young racing sporty look. Im 30 years of age. Gettin old
p.s. what did you do to the bottom of the back bumper? havent seen that before? is that an aftermarket bumper or some kinda add on?
Well the thing is I probly wouldnt reapply them after taking them off. Im sure theres a way. But the right thing to do would to buy new cruze letters. And turtlewax compound to get off stickyness or letter marks.

So I blacked out the chrome piece first and unfortunately had trouble with the masking tape I put on. I didn't do a great job and it didn't come out straight when removing it after the last coat. Edges were not smooth, chrome was showing, tried to touch it up but plastidip is hard to touch up. I changed plans, removed it and blacked out the letters...
Picture does not do it justice as you can barely see it from the angle but they are black indeed and look nice once up close ( car behind you in traffic ) .
I actually vinyl wrapped my chrome piece. Removed the trunk covering unscrew the 4 bolts underneath unplug the harness and laid a 3m carbon finer vinyl over it. I didn't like the look of the paint since my car is metallic granite black but the vinyl looks awesome!!
You did exactly what I did 1st time around. The pattern direction conflicted with the bowtie and I redid the bowtie as it was the easier of the 2 to redo.
