sorry I just thought that was funny. but I do have a ? -9 drgees on start up it not good right is this a tune issue or a vvt problem

I am not sure what your question is, is -9 the temperature or the engine timing? Could you describe exactly what the car is or isn't doing. Also what engine you have would also be helpful.

I have a 1.4L turbo (LUJ) the timing is -9 degree at start up with engine temp 72 degree it does this for about 1 min and runs rough them runs smooth till it cools off again then it will do it all over again

is this in the tune or is it the vvt causing the problem

There is a thread about the spark plug gap and using a higher grade fuel which seems to cure some tuning problems.

Is it running a stock tune or aftermarket?

VVT is tuned to play with the cam timing and run some valve overlap when the motor's cold to help speed catalyst warm-up time.

the tune is from trifecta and I did not see or feel is in the car I rented and I did reset the spark plugs and I run 93 from the pump an the air fuel ratio is 12.4.1 I an think its to rich
I do know there is a tsb on the vvt solnoids I though the timing sound advance at start up

This is a known issue on some 1.4s with the Trifecta tune. Stumble stumble stumble and then once warm, it all smooths out. Search for "popcorn start"

It's probably doing that to warm itself up quickly. Also, if it's in that airboat in your picture, it might be trying to warm up a catalyst that's no longer there.

There's a search bar in the upper right hand corner when scrolling up to the top of the page. It's powered by Google, so it's pretty good at sniffing out relevant information in the first 5 pages or so.

but I have the cat an evap system an both O2 sensors, so mayb I should leave it be cuz it sure runs good right now

Darn, that engine really is a lot similar to a car engine installation. That makes any future troubleshooting that much easier!

I bet it's just a quirk, and shouldn't really affect anything.

I got a new problem seems like the battery died. so I put a new battery in and now have a random misfire about 4500 to 5500. I checked for codes an I had a p0300 and ap0520 oil pressure open or shorted replace it but still misfiring any one got some advice

Seeing that the coil pack hates rain and snow splashing into the engine bay, check the springs in the boots of the coil pack for corrosion.

Have you tried cleaning the MAF and throttle body? Checked the plug gaps?

Also, given the application, have you made sure all intake connections from the air filter to the intake manifold are secure and none might have vibrated loose or introduced a leak along the way?
