It's the water pump! Just went through the same thing with my 2013. You wont ever see the coolant but you can smell it and the tank level will slowly go down. There is a new pump out now, mine is in the shop rite now having it put on.

Is your covered under warranty for it?

The water pump is covered under the 5 yr/100,000 mile power train warranty.

Early MY 2011 Cruze 1.4T engines had a comparatively high water pump failure rate.....there was a design and vendor change for late 2011 and subsequent.
But, doesn't really matter who makes them....water pumps fail....sometimes poor design, sometimes, just because.
Doesn't matter who made it, how it was serviced, how it was used...some fail sooner than others.
Speculation abounds but if there was a answer it would have been implemented 50 years ago.

GM makes a dye for this purpose. If your dealership is unable to find the leak on the first try have them put this dye in your system and refill to the cold full line. This dye will make it easier to find the leak.

They will not find anything wrong with it until it noticeably leaks. I just got my pump changed out at 34k miles cause it finally developed a noticeable leak from the impeller shaft. The reason they never find a leak is it is slow enough that the coolant burns off before it can pool or drip.

I let mine sit for the weekend and took a flashlight to the pump and saw the UV dye I had put in it glow pretty well. I suggest doing the same, possibly with a mirror, take a picture, and then bring it back.

My buddy works there and he told me they pressure tested it and dye tested it and everything and found nothing and that the smell of coolant was probably just due to it being so new but I still have my doubts

I was reading in another thread on here about how some caps on the over flew track were leaving values and since when I looked and smelled it the strongest near the real could this be my issue? Would the coolant go down from vapor loss

A coolant vapor loss will result in the coolant levels going down. Once again, the coolant dye will tell you if this is the problem.

This! Do you notice a coolant puddle in the garage? This happened to mine and I only caught it because I would notice a small puddle of coolant under the car after I let it sit over night.

The dealer kept saying they didn't see anything, then one day driving to work I lost all my coolant on the side of the road.

I didn't see a puddle or anything. I put UV dye in mine and when I saw it was half an inch lower than it was 3.5k miles ago I took a flashlight and started looking. Ended up finding a coolant drool just under the impeller/pulley. Brought it in and they showed me the old one, nothing that you can see with the eye or feel with your hands, but it definitely leaked.

Check your shield to see if it is being trapped in there. Prob one of the reasons you won't see drips on the driveway.
Some people might have had the recall done and will see some coolant on the ground. I did not have the recall done and the coolant did not get far before I had it replaced.

I am taking my car to the dealership for the 3rd time to have this looked at. Each time they have put in dye and did pressure tests and found nothing. But I am going to keep doing it to make sure I have it documented in case I need to go to court over it when my warranty expires. I will ask them about the water pump when I am there.

Funny people are all mentioning this pressure testing. The first dealer I called said they'd need to do a pressure test as well and my personal opinion after talking on the phone was pretty low. I called another dealership and told them the issue and they said bring it in and we'll take care of it right away. They didn't once question me. All I can say, if you have the option, find another dealer that is more willing to take your concern to heart. I'm all for avoiding unnecessary work (by doing a pressure test first), but nobody knows your car better than you, and a dealer should listen if they want your business.
